10 - Caesarea Philippi

After our morning at the Tel Dan nature preserve, we loaded up and headed to Caesarea Philippi. Caesarea Philippi is mentioned by name in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. The city was around during the reign of Herod the Great and Phillip II. In 14 AD, Philip II named it Caesarea in honour of Roman Emperor Augustus and it is remembered as Caesarea Phillipi
